Our Favorite Lasagna
Our Favorite Lasagna
When John’s sister was little, she was asked if she wanted some lasagna. What she heard was “Do you want some luz on ya?” To which she replied, “No, I don’t want some luz on me. I want it on my plate!”
Our Favorite Lasagna is made with our Monster Spaghetti Sauce, but feel free to use your favorite sauce. I hope you enjoy one of our family favorites on your plate.
Ingredients
- 12 Lasagna Noodles
- 2-2 1/2 cups Colby Jack Cheese Shredded
- 4 c. Monster Spaghetti Sauce
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 3 eggs beaten
- Garlic salt
- Paprika
- Parsley Flakes
Directions
Boil lasagna noodles in salted water for 6 minutes, rinse in cold water and drain.
They will not be completely cooked which is ideal for this recipe.
In a bowl mix cottage cheese, sour cream and Parmesan cheese with beaten eggs.
Spread a small amount of Monster Spaghetti Sauce over bottom of 9 x 13″ glass baking pan. Lay four lasagna noodles as base layer and spread 2 cups of sauce over noodles.
Gently spread 1/2 of cheese mixture over the meat sauce. Repeat layers covering top layer of noodles with the shredded cheese.
The layers give enough moisture to allow the lasagna noodles to finish cooking while producing richer flavors.
Lightly sprinkle garlic salt, paprika and parsley flakes on the top layer of cheese.
Bake in preheated 350° oven for 45-55 minutes. Allow Lasagna to rest for 1/2 hour before dishing up.
Serve with garden green salad and crusty bread.
Serves 10-12
