Grandpa’s Outhouse

“That one’s the barn.”
Yeah, well they better be some pretty small horses… My Dad tells the story that in the late 1940s, my great uncle was talking to my grandpa, telling him he needed to build a new outhouse for the cabin. Grandpa told my Uncle Clair that they had indoor plumbing at the house in Charleston and didn’t use the privy anymore so he could have it. Uncle Clair moved it to the Strawberry Valley, 35 miles away. I’m sure that the old privy had seen it’s better days before Uncle Clair got it, but he and his family put a lot more miles on it. I don’t know if this is the same outhouse that got moved from the house in Charleston or not. But if it is… it’s got to be pushing a hundred years old.
Jack is just like anyone else. He loves to hear when he is doing well. If his blog brings a smile to your face or a tear to your eye, scroll down and let him know in the comments.
