Happiness is a choice. You have to choose it everyday. You have to fight for happiness.
[From time to time, as a therapy exercise for Emily, we talk about what she would do if she had a magic wand and could fix anything she wanted to, with it. This opens up things to talk about so we can work on her being able to cope with things that are difficult for her. I once wrote about the exercise and how we use it. This week Emily wanted to write about what she would do if she was magic. I think you’ll find some her thoughts very enlightening, particularly if you or a loved one have ever dealt with depression.]
If I had magic wand I would help children. And also help my sister Lidia and my mom Oksana. I would help my sisters and brothers to have good mom Oksana to make sure she gets a good job and nice husband. I would also help children get adopted to good families.
I would protect people from the evils of the world.
I would help children get good education. I can’t imagine it when I have magic and help children and help myself. With magic I would travel to Russia and India and Brazil and different places. I would have a rich house.
The hard part of being happy isn’t finding happiness but keeping it. In my life I need my family to be happy. I love being happy because I have friends and my family supporting me. If someone was sad I would tell them to just do it, be happy and never give up on yourself. I would tell them to find things they are grateful for.
In my life I know I feel better when I help others it helps me to forget about my problems. Happiness is a choice you have to choose it everyday. You have to fight for happiness.
Everybody pay attention who knows me please continue to love and support me and my family.
Thank you for helping me. When I was a little girl I would help my sister and brothers get food. I would stay in the streets and ask and beg neighbours for food. I learned that it isn’t okay for children to beg for food. I believe that every child should have access to food. With magic I would make sure that happens.
I believe in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I believe in my family. I have the opportunity to see my family all the time. My family has changed me for the better. They have taught me to be happy to be patient to love others and to care about everyone.
I like calm music it helps me to be calm. I like listening to both Russian and American music. I like to do activities like go to Lagoon [a local amusement park] in the summer and in the winter I like to go snowmobiling. I like to go on walks and hikes. Even though I like to do things outside sometimes it’s nice to stay at home and chill.
Everyone pay attention, government, too. People need families to get help for their lives. They should give happiness, shelter, food and love. I want to challenge you to do at least one nice thing for someone today to help brighten their and to help them be happy.
