James. Always a Favorite Photo Subject.
All photos were shot without assistance by our son, Jack, who has Downs syndrome. He’s quite proud of his photo blog. Click on the picture to open it and read Jack’s comments along with the story. Leave him a comment while you’re there. Nothing makes him happier!
“That’s Baby James. He’s Holly’s Baby.”
Often Jack adds a descriptive to go along with a name. I don’t know why, but I have seen it in other people with Down syndrome, too. He calls James’ other grandfather, Steve, “Steve Smith” never just “Steve.” I think this is to distinguish him from Jack’s older brother, also named Steve. James is always “Baby James.” Jack has several friends and cousins named Jake i.e. “Big Jake” (a friend) “Cousin Jake” (His cousin) and “Jake the Horse” (his favorite horse). None of these “Jakes” is ever spoken of without the descriptive add-on.
