When I am Little Girl in Russia
When I am little girl in Russia, my mom in Russia abused them [Emily’s younger siblings] very bad. And Also I saw her [Emily’s first mother] put my sister, Maria and [my brother,] Vitale in the orphanage. [The records show that Emily, her three sisters, and one brother, were removed from the home at the same time.] Me and my sisters helped Maria and Vitale [before] we were separated. I never give up on Maria and Vitale because I love them.
I never know when they [were] born because I never saw documents about when they [were] born [and do not remember the births].
Also we [Emily and younger siblings] ask for food and money. [Emily and her siblings went begging, door to door from neighbors.] [When] we came home, my mom in Russia take away from us food and money and she buy alcohol and eat [our] food.
I saw my mom in Russia that she got pregnant and then government take away kids from her and put them in orphinige. I felt very sad that my mom in Russia, she never happy because she [did things] that make her sad. And Also, my mom in Russia, she so mean and angry.
Maria and Vitale need[ed] help. I am glad that Maria and Vitale got adopted by new families. I am happy about Maria and Vitale.
Sometimes I feel sad about that my mom in Russia, she died because something happened to her.
Always, kids need family. It’s important. And also, we give them opportunities. My family, it’s amazing, always, it doesn’t matter what.
It’s hard for me [to] be happy but I know that I am making good choices right now and it makes me so happy. And I am not breaking any rules [like] not hurt myself, run away, or [breaking other rules]. Now I am happy and I am trying be good forever and always for myself.
I do not want bad happen to me in the future. I am trying to get a job and be independent and be happy.
Also, all ophinige [should] make sure kids be adopted. But in Russia, [they] change rules that in Russia we not allowed get kids adopted [by people in the U.S.] because it’s law.
When we [were] in the snow and cold in Russia, my brother and sisters [were there]. But I don’t remember about my brother playing with us. When Maria and Vitale in orphinige I remember that they get adopted by new families and I knew [the] whole time that they going to be happy with new families. My brother, Vitale and sister, Maria [must have been] so happy that they got adopted.
My family give me life. If my mom [in Russia] got adopted she [would be] happy, too. But she not got adopted by no one. But now my mom in Russia, she gone, forever. And also my Maria and Vitale been grateful that they got family.
I know that my future come that I am so happy that I got adopted from new family by my new mom and dad and I have amazing grandparents always. I love my family.
I hope my brother and sister, Vitale and Maria have a good life. I never see them [since they were removed from the home] because I never meet them [again]. But I will really love to meet my brother and sister again.
